Why are a couple of people from
Washington State raising money for a House Race in Nevada?
1. We need a Democratic majority in the US House in January. No more Mike Johnson as Speaker!
That’s why Nancy Pelosi will join us on this Zoom call — working to get that Democratic House majority. Every House seat in every state matters!
2. Nevada is our nearest “purple” state, a place many WA Dems have gone to work in campaigns — campaigns we’ve contributed to as donors and volunteers. (Washington people do you remember Senator Catherine Cortez Masto’s razor-thin victory in 2022? The one that gave us the Senate majority?)
3. Last time, in 2022 after redistricting, Nevada’s three US House members (Susie Lee, Dina Titus, and Steven Horsford) barely won re-election. Susie won with only 51%. Nevada is not a blue state; it really is a purple state, increasingly so — frustratingly, Trump may well win it this year, which makes it an even harder year for Nevada Democrats such as Susie.
4. The GOP sees all three Nevada Dems as vulnerable, targeting Susie most of all. The GOP is spending all out to pick up these House seats. It’s scary.
5. Susie is an extraordinary legislator, incredibly admirable. Amazingly effective, especially on successful bipartisan initiatives.

I know everyone feels wrung out by fundraising appeals. I do too. But PLEASE join this one!
Don’t worry about the suggested contribution amounts — give what you’d like, or just join the call, listen to Nancy Pelosi and Susie Lee and make a decision later. No amount is too small!
